archived-videos Two Short Films

Hey all,

We produced these short films in 2011 and would love to hear what you think. The first is a mostly-silent comedy and the second is a drama. We raised the money for both via crowdfunding and shot them in Portland, OR.

Wow, great stuff! I especially liked "Thieves". 12-minutes without dialogue? And yet you keep it constantly engaging. Bravo!

Not sure if you want critiques, so I hope I'm not stepping out of bounds. Anyway, I think it'd be even better if it moved faster. You mentioned that it was inspired by Pixar shorts -- those things move FAST!

When I critique someone's work by saying that I think it should move faster, I'm usually commenting on the edit. In this case, I personally think your edit is spot-on perfect. It's the performances I would've changed. Had I directed, I would've been saying, "That's great. Now, do the same thing faster" a whole bunch.

But I'm nitpicking, and that's seriously my lone complaint. This is AWESOME work. :D

Thieves was pretty good but could have been better. I just thought there would be more to the ending. I understand the idea is supposed to be mr. bean like. This had potential but just did not reach it. I also kept thinking they were in the house too long. The longer they were in there the more I thought they would be caught. This was a good short keep on making films you have potential.
