A few years ago, I found a used Manfrotto fluid head tripod in a GoodWill (lucky ). Unfortunately, the head and lower legs were in horrible shape (looked like it had been misused by the previous owners). About a week ago, my tripod went to a better place...

I am now tripodless, and wondering what tripod I should get. I do not have a lot of money. Any ideas?

Actually, depending on what you are currently doing and where you want to go in the future, a tripod is one of the few things worth looking at with a bit of long term thinking.

What camera and how "rigged" are you typically shooting?

Do you plan on upgrading in the near future - heavier or lighter?

Did you like the feel of the manfrotto? Even given comparable features, price, build quality, different fluid heads have different feels to them.

Are you willing to kick back and sift through the used market for a deal, or do you need something asap?
