Greetings,
For my new shortfilm I've a scene, where a guy saves a bird he finds at the side of a road, which eventually defines him to become a doctor and save lives.
However, I'm unsure about how this could be done on a no-budget film. I think it can be relatively to create the part of a dying bird at the site road. Probably by buying a stuffed bird, paint it with 'blood' and wiring something onto the wing to create the illusion of it being alive and struggling.
But I can't seem to think of a solution on how to film a bird being rescued and flying out into the wild (filming a guy holding the bird in his hands, opening them up allowing the bird to fly). I mean you could capture a real bird, hold it in your hands and let go, but capturing a bird? I'm a filmmaker, not an animal expert!
I realise this probably isn't something most people around here have experience with, but I thought I would ask anyways. Maybe you guys have a tip for something DIY or CGI.
Thanks in advance
