There MUST be an easier workflow than this...

Ok, so I bought a Panasonic GH1, and so far, the only way I've found to be able to get 1080/24p is to:

Get the footage using "FHD" mode on the camera

Run through Neoscene with the "convert to 24p" option ticked

Import onto an AVCHD 1080p24 timeline in Premiere Pro, where the footage is still rocky and not smooth

Edit with rocky and not smooth footage

Export in H.264 1080p24

Watch the resulting mp4 and see that it is STILL rocky and un smooth.

Run new exported file through neoscene to turn it into 24p and then watch the silky smooth product.

Is there anyway I can export in HD in Avid MC4 with no additional hardware or software? I much prefer Avid's layout, and I got the AVCHD-->P2DVCPRO converter working...

Dont know your particulars of your software, but after importing, its my understanding that your cineform 24p file is no longer an AVHCD file. Try playing the cineform file by its self, OUTSIDE of the NLE.

Do other H.264 1080p files play well on your system?

From the sound of it, I think your turning your cineform file BACK into an AVHCD file, thereby loosing the benefits of cineform. You then reencode your final file as a cineform and get the benefits back!

Then again, I dont know what Im talking about.
