THE REASON I'M HERE, I NEED ADVICE

Hi guys!

Names J.D and I was searching online for one of the best Indiefilm forums to Join and this one was highly suggested.

I am Actor in the North East of England with a dream of being in a Sitcom series but until that happens I figured "Why not make that dream come true myself? I have the equipment to do it!

So I started writing my own sitcom webseries that I also act in and there is a dedicated cast of 6 people and growing. For the past two years I have been directing, scripting, acting in and editing this series. I have put countless hours, sweat and tears into editing this show to make it look as good and professional as I possibility can.

And here it is, the first 11 episodes - all in this Playlist. Including a Halloween and Christmas special! Think Friends meets Two and a Half Men...

Want a new TV show to watch? give it a watch! Please tell me what you think and I hope you enjoy watching it :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIKVEck3YVM&list=PLzyGH2uCpW49AZ_cS8lqSqz6-xODCLE3w

This should go into promotion or the screening room. Probably promotion.

As you've asked what we think, firstly congratulations on completing this. It's always a huge task to complete something and well done on a herculean effort.

On a more critical note, which may be 'taste,' and completely irrelevant, I did not laugh. I know it is supposed to be funny but it just lacks a funny bone.

Also, need to sort out your colouring, white balance and use of light. Paying attention to these elements may make your technical aspect look professional.

Anyhow, good luck going forward.

so honestly need to know what you did to make it look good . Blood sweat" and all that.

Cos it looks like a videocamera filming people. what equipment do you use and have here?

Color. Lighting. Composition. Decor (like seriously, why are these British people obsessed with American decor? You have the decor of an old couple in Florida.). Acting. Accents (those can't all be real). General lack of humor.

Also... everything I was thinking while watching this first episode completely blanked out when the ending happened.... You broke the 4th wall. Horribly. It wasn't like any of them stopped acting, it's just the moment you realize these people were never acting.

I'd never watch another episode. I regret watching (skimming) the first.

Lastly, why the fuck does her necklace give you lens flares? Is it a magic necklace? I doubt it.

You failed at making this look even close to semi-professional. However, you succeeded in baiting me.

I'm afraid the pilot was not funny, (nor tragic*) at all, so I didn't continue watching.
You really did something most people won't do: finish a series. Too bad I don't see the humor in it, while I really love 2,5 men (Sheen era). The tune is a terrible rip off, btw.

I could say all kind of things about the technical side of it, but most have been mentioned already. And since your ambition is acting, I think the biggest problem is not white balance, sound or framing, but the script and acting. At least in the pilot episode it is.

The good news is that if you put together (or get your hands on) a hilarious script, you already have some experience.
Btw, if you want sitcom style: add laughter to the audio, so people know it is a joke ;)

*) Some British comedies are funny and tragic at the same time (Shameless).
