The Missing Picture

Update:

I got to see this last week, it is an absolute must see for any film maker, doubly so for anyone interested in documentary film.

Tremendous telling of Panh's childhood experience surviving Khmer Rouge work camps. The use of clay miniatures puts the dehumanization of the camps center stage. They were numbers, not names, stripped of all individuality and the figurines emphasized this in a way that recreations with human actors never could.

Much more personal story than S21, and not nearly as difficult.

Also left the film wondering how much of this is going on right now in North Korea. :(
