Hey Guys! I'm looking for some feedback on our latest video "The Attic" . Any of your comments/critiques are welcome!

The Attic - Official Trailer

This is just a stand alone trailer. There is no feature length film. Its not meant to be a comedy, but it is meant to be a slightly tongue in cheek stereotypical horror film (ie the old abandoned house, surprisingly located young child, unseen monster etc..)

Anyways, let me know what you think!

A good build up while also visiting some of the "thriller" cliche's

I like the concept of it-it sounds like something Scream, where (the original anyway) wasn't meant so much as a horror-as a horror/comedy/parody of the horror genre-a really interesting balance. It looks like you're catching that.

I know this is a standalone trailer, but I think there's enough material here to even to a 5-10 min short.

Out of curiosity what camera were you using, it has a very interesting (in a good way) look.

There were some parts which it was fading in and then fading out so quickly that you almost miss the scene.

I think there's potential for a good short here-and again, kudos on tackling that line of a horror/thriller/parody-it's a VERY fine line, but excellent when done well :)
 
It's not so much a trailer as it is a short film. Also its a lot of building for little pay off. Keep shooting.:)

Yeah, that seems to be the theme im picking up on from different peoples comments "It would have been better if it was a short film instead of pseudo trailer".

We were using the Sony NEX - 5. It's a compact DSLR. It does have an interesting look. Not my first choice by a long shot, but i still like it
