My writing/directing partner and I were in a bit of a lull at the VFX studio we work at, so we decided to make and design our own sitcom, network news programming, commercials and products. Its a weird project, but fun!

Congratulations - I've had a few laughs but most are cliched. But what's up with the 80s acting and color-grading? Or is it deadpan comedy?

I mean, I thought the 4x3 aspect ratio, the VHS inspired look and the sitcom plot would articulate this is a send up of TGIF.

I thought your intent was very clear and successful.

My only issue was lighting. The commercials looked exactly the same
as the show. The show should have been more bright like those period
sitcoms.

My codirector and I work at a vfx studio and we were really just banging through and making this in our downtime. Writing and being weird became our top goal over compositing and the stuff we always have to deal with. However, I guess we did take the Design pretty serious and made some really stupid brands.

Also, dont try using a Harmonica holder for a sandwich device. It wont work.
