archived-videos SWITCH, a sci fi short film

Cool concept, very Asimovian feel to it... I think the pacing could be hastened a bit, that would help viewer retention (I apologize, but I bailed after the fight scene, I have a short attention span or stuff I'm watching on my computer, even hollywood stuff).

There are some simple lighting changes you could make to give the scenes a bit more drama. Not necessarily all expensive lighting options either, just flagging some of the light and controlling where it doesn't fall can add a bit more depth to your images. Dropping the amount of light on the background slightly to draw more focus to your subjects would instantly add to it, without costing an arm and a leg, it could be done with a bit of cardboard spray painted flat black. Adding a bit of shadow to one side of the actors faces would add a touch of drama as well... and that's as easy as stopping light from hitting their faces (again flat black cardboard). Play around with it a little in tests to see what works for you and to get an understanding of it.

I loved the little flicker of a smile that turns on and off on the robot's face with almost no transition as if the show of emotion was a calculated action... good choice for the actor and director :)

The flares could blend a bit more into the world, they seem to sit on top of the footage rather than living in it. Some color correction could get them set in there a bit better, play with the blending modes as well to see what looks the most realistic.

This is the kind of show concept I love to see -- love this stuff.
