Studio Monitor HELP!!!.

Hey fellas, Wilbs here. Im trying to get an idea of what studio monitors to get for sound editing and mixing. Im at pre production for my demo reels and I need some advise for this situation (Sound). Im thinking about these monitors but I would like to know what you guys think. The audio interface to go with this is here
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FireStuProj/ and the monitors http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BX8aDeluxe/. Basically im gonna be producing my own sound and theme music for my demo reels. Please help duders and dudettes!!!

Why would you need eight (8) mic inputs; a bit of overkill, don't you think?

I would go with the MOTU Audio Express as the interface:

Just a personal preference, there are a number of nice interfaces out there.

I agree with ROC, I'm not a fan of M-Audio either.

A lot of video editors really like the Blue Sky speakers, and if you don't have a sonically treated room they might be a good option for you.

Here are a few others:

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LSR2328P/ - $349 EACH

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/6010ABlk/ - $349 EACH

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CMS40/ - $395 EACH

yeah your right on the interface I chose, I guess I should start at a novice level. The interface I chose was just a thought for the instruments I will be looking at buying as my projects progress. but good stuff thanks man. I like these selections.

M-Audio monitors are ok, but nothing to write home about. There are many possibilities depending on your budget. Here are some names to look at
Event
Genelec
Adam
Quested
Tannoy
Dynaudio
All of the above make some pretty decent speakers, and there are other brands as well that do it well. Avoid Behringer monitors if you can..they are pretty awful in my experience.

In all probability you'll be doing a large portion of the instruments "in-the-box" with softsynths and samplers. Plus, with MIDI, you can just track the outboard modules one part at a time. You still have the two mic inputs to record live instruments, and you can add a couple of mic preamps to take advantage of the other two inputs if you need additional mics.

One thing that you need to do is get some isolation and treatment for your listening space; it makes a HUGE difference.

Hey guys!!, just got back from filming a wedding. Gonna start editing the footage and start on other projects while I wait for my camera rig. Thanks a bunch on your advise guys, it helps loads.
