Strong active ending

I was reading on some different ways to write short stories. One of the ways was to create a strong active ending first, and build the whole story from there..

My question is, what is exactly "strong and active ending"??
Does anybody have an example?

I'm not sure, but maybe its like the happy ending then the guy gets hit by a bus
out-of-nowhere???

I was thinking maybe something along the lines of protagonist achieving his difficult goal as he goes through mentally demanding path..

But sounds like I might be wrong lol

"They kiss" would be an example if you were writing a romance. It means that the driving force of the story does something to bring about the conclusion.

I had to google "strong active ending", as this is the first I've heard that specific phrase. Google sent me to this thread!

If Lucky's definition is correct, does that mean I have one in this movie?

A strong ending is one that either blows the audiences mind, or traumatizes them hard, in my opinion, as a movie lover. So if you can come up with one that does that, it could be good.

Mr Cracker, that was really awesome film you got there!

Maybe all of the action converging to a single event, means strong and active ending. Like in your short movie, all of the action came to a point when husband jumped in front of the bullet.

Yeah, I'll see if Cracker Funks movie is playing at the festivals near me. That's another good example, a third act where everything converges.
