Sony HDR-FX1E good or bad idea

I'm planning on buying a camera next year. Something to make my own independent films with, and with good enough quality to be entered into film festivals. I'v been looking at the Sony HDR-FX1E but then again i've never used it, i was wondering if anyone has used or is using this camera for filming any sort of short films or anything. Is it worth getting or not?

The good news is the camera doesn’t matter when entering
festivals. What festival programmers look for is a well told
story that they feel will be of interest to a lot of people.

So that camera will be just fine as long you have a great story,
compelling actors, good audio, excellent production design and
exciting editing.

I've never used that model, but I have used the NTSC equivalent.
It's a fine camera.
