Some other campaigns

Here's an IG campaign I'd love to see meet its goal:

Looks like it would be very interesting. What a crazy time in our history.

And after reading more of these first-timers with their campaigns thinking everything will just fall into place, I stumbled across this one:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/82503277/uncle-alice-presents-a-shock-rock-horror-anthology?ref=live

Started by Tom Sheppard (seems to have had a decent writing career and worked on some popular TV shows like that Annoying Orage TV series and Robot Chicken) and featuring Alice Cooper as the host of the show. It doesn't look like it will make it, 25% of 200K and only 9 days to go.

Just goes to show, even with a near household name like Alice Cooper in an appropriate genre project, it's still an awful lot of work and not a given.

That first campaign does look interesting.

I'm surprised that the macabre nature of the subject combined with what seems like an experienced organizer & host, Dr. Lindsey Fitzharris, with director/producer Lesley-Anne Morrison doesn't bring out a stronger donor base.

I suspect it's a promotion issue, or lack thereof, since the naturally lurid topic should have a higher than average donation-per-review ratio.

A subject's intrinsic merit can only carry it so far.
After a while it's just a straight numbers game.
Virals are flukes.
