Software for Animation and Title Sequences.

For the longest time, I've been wanting to create an animated logo for my production company, doing it myself for the experience and to gain more expertise at that area of filmmaking.

What software application programs would you recommend for such logos? I took a peek at Cinema 4D, which seemed intriguing. What others do you like to use for this purpose?

Also, I've been wanting to get into creating intriguing title sequences for films. What are some programs you like for that purpose. I understand AfterEffects can be good for that. What else?

After Effects or Motion would work for creating an animated logo/title sequence. If you want a 3D logo/titles, look at a 3d program like Maya/Cinema 4d, etc.

edit: I also heard of this program called Hitfilm. It might be worth checking out.

You might want to check out blender. it is very robust and free.

After Effects with a mixture of Photoshop/Illustrator = awesomeness. AE and Photoshop are discounted if you are a student.
