So, how silly of an idea is this?

I'd like to do the Inktip Pitch Summit session held in LA (Fall session). So, I would have three polished scripts with storyboards, but the presentation of the storyboard would be loaded onto a digital photo frame which I would give, along with the paper script, to whatever prodco expressed an interest in it. Would this be worth the expense or would this be considered too gimmicky? Opinions? Thanks guys!

Three polished scripts? That alone would rock! I'm not certain any sort of storyboarding for a pitch session would fly in this type of scenario, although I could be wrong.

If the scripts are as tight as they can be, you know them inside and out, and you have the loglines down pat for pitching purposes (wasn't going for alliteration there!), you would immediately get my attention. But others might have a different take on it. Having never been to a pitch session like this I can't speak from experience.

Just make darn sure to give me a ring when you're out here so we can meet up!

Thanks Jeff! Yah, I've never been to a pitch session, either, so have no clue what would be considered kosher or not. I was also considering something like your, 'The Sleeping Deep' packaging along with the digital frame. :)

I'll definitely give you and Rebecca, and Zen, a shout out...I'm crossing my fingers that my monies will pan out accordingly.

Hi, Bird

Agents will likely be interested in a beat sheet, coverage notes you've received and a well composed one-sheet.

The agents are eye-balling you as a potential client to work with and refer to producers.
If they think you're "solid" - great.
If they think you're a flake - not so great.
A lot of writing is rewriting, they want to know if you have the salt to work in the biz as a pro.
The digital photo frame may be considered a distraction from your presentation.

Thanks much, rayw! I'll save the photo frames for personal records, then. :)

That sounds Awesome Bird! I've got a screenplay I'm working on, but it's really a short, not feature length, and I don't have the "pro chops'" for it to be considered appropriate ;)

Still though it sounds like an exciting venture!

It would be considered too gimmickly. Unless you are only interested
in selling the script if you are also hired as the director, a pitch "summit"
like this is for writers only. Rarely for writer/directors. Any prodCo
interested in optioning your script will have a list of directors they want
to work with and will be looking for script that are the right fit for those
directors (or actors). They are not interested in how the writer would
direct the script.

Ooo, that's great, Tina! I hope you post it. :)

Thanks Rik!

It's actually a co-written venture, and the gent in question is more reclusive than I am, probably wants to keep the screenplay personal. It would probably be my "biggest" production as far as people-the fact I could have up to 4 people (hey it's big for me ) working on it, and all that will be involved-it will be interesting ;)

I'll be sure to post the finished product though (and yes it has a masked character, but would also have a couple of unmasked character too and it would also be my first full project that has dialogue, so a lot of "firsts" :))
