Snag Films Distribution Offer

We received a Snag Films distribution offer. Anyone deal with them before? Happy/unhappy? Did your film just sit "on their shelf" without any promotion?

Snag Films offers VOD for free. They have been around for four years and
you have never gone to their site because you saw any promotion. That
kind of answers the question about promotion. As with most on-line
distributors YOU need to drive people to your movie - they provide the
hosting and the advertisers who pay and they take a cut giving you the
rest. They offer links to buy your film if it’s available - they take a cut of
that. The have a large library, they own “indieWire” and they offer the movies
to many on-line outlets. But you have to do the promoting.

Did they tell you what they pay you when they offered to distribute your
movie?

Just what it says in their standard agreement.

I have read their standard agreement. Since they contacted you and
offered to distribute I thought, maybe, they were offering you a different
deal than if you contacted them.
Oh, we meant to say, you know...featured on their website, front page, that kind of stuff. If the project is covered in IndieWire, etc.
From everything I've seen they feature their "big" films on their front
page - National Geographic, Hollywood Stars, Sundance winners - and
trending projects. I've been watching films there for a few years but
I have never seen them promote anything. I look around for something
that catches my eye.

So they are just offering you their standard deal? No different than if you
simply submitted your film to them?

I guess so, then. Good thing I ran it past here. Wasn't sure if there was a difference or if we can have an attorney rewrite the contract/renegotiate.

Hello! I just got some interest from Snag about my doc. I read your thread. What happened?
Did you put your doc on the site? Just sorting out whether it's worth the money for insurance and lawyer fees. Thank you. Jwb
