Shotgun Microphones

I recently purchased a Sony HXR-NX5U and, currently I am using the shotgun microphone that came with the camcorder. It has worked pretty good so far but, I know there are better mics out there and, good audio is important to a good film. Could anyone tell me a good shotgun microphone? Possibly one with a boom to raise above the shot.
