Short Film Funding

I agree with you, There are many interesting and high
quality movies being made. How many short films do
you pay to watch in, say, six months?

Personally, I am the last six months bought 2 short films in the appstore. $ 6 is not so much. But if these movies were on torrent tracker, I'd downloaded from there.

Pretty much why I skipped making a [complete] short film and went right to a feature, personally.

Take the advice here, maybe try to see if you can do the short for ten times less than what you quoted in the initial post, then just get the experience.

Otherwise, 10K is a third of the way toward 30K, and for 30K I'm doing a feature, not a short.

Even if I very much ask for the film crew to work the cost of pies, take off for 3 days at the camera Mark II, then I would be able to reduce the budget by 3000. But $ 7,000 is too much. Even $ 2,000 is money.

But the less I can not, unfortunately. Otherwise, the quality will suffer. Costumes, lighting, studio and other expenses, without which not enough. And hire graphic stations.

Maybe I sell my kidney?

How ar you keeping the cost so low? I estimate that I need $50k for mine.

Don't think he's saying that's all he'd like to have, but the bottom level where it could be done. I'd pretty much agree. I'd much rather have 50K or better yet 250K, but if I had 30K avaalable, there are features I could make for that.

Uh huh. Pretty much.

It also hinges on connections, of course. There's a lot that I own or have access to that I won't have to actually pay for, so it's a little different.

And, of course, it also depends on what kind of feature you're talking about.

First one was under 30K, though, and I could do it again, will probably do it again starting this October, haha.

Don't sell a Kidney... it's not worth it, trust me.

Be prepared to pitch in money yourself..

Before others will invest in you. You must first invest in yourself. You need a resume of stuff you've made before investors get interested in you.

Try to make something very small that you can afford first.

In spite of all doubt and uncertainty I am currently working on 3D teaser, which I will show the final visual style.

But again, investors want to profit.
