Shall I invest in Rode?

I want to get myself a rather cheap microphone since I don't have much of a budget to record foley and use it to record After Effects tutorials and probably dialogue in the films.

I know it's not perfect but I have only about 150 dollars and my incamera mic.

What do you think , is Rode worth it?

It's okay. I used a RODE video mic for a while, and I noticed there was a lot of hissing and overall it was a bit quiet.

If you could shell out an extra $65, I'd definitely go with Azden SGM-2X over the Rode VideoMic.

Personally, I would avoid Azden products like syphilitic plague rats.

Besides, you can get an Audio Technica mic cheaper.
