SFX Libraries 2500 files for 50$, 250 for 9$

Here is a great library of sound effects I just found which from what I can tell are very high quality and the first bundle which is 250 sounds is only 9$.

Check it out - they are great for your zombie indie films.

This is compared to some sites which are like $2.50 a file.

And no, I don't get any kickbacks from advertising this. I thought you all might like to have pro SFX for your indie films :)

Yeah - right now the only library the guy has is these cool bone crunches, face splats, brain bashes, etc. etc. but I'm sure he'll put up more stuff. It's based off the principle that the stock libraries like Sound Ideas etc. are too bland and lacking life. This guy knows what's up.

Very clever.

Here's another:

This is one of the reasons that I love doing audio post.

It is a dictum in audio post that the real thing never sounds like the real thing. Last night I had to create the sound of a cookie being taken off of a cookie sheet. (As a quick aside my wife wonders why I have become such a pack-rat.) I used some left over pieces of ceiling tile from when I rebuilt the studio.

As a quick update I've been working on a feature. I had to create all of the cooking sounds for a different scene, which was a lot of fun. I have nine main characters (ensemble cast) so I made a trip to the Goodwill store a few weeks ago to buy shoes; I get the funniest looks when I buy high-heels. I sometimes wonder how many miles I walk doing footsteps......

I'll be recording a classic hot-rodded 60's muscle car in two weeks; should be fun!

Alcove, if you want I have some suggestions on the 60s car.

Some cool trivia about sounds in film:

T-Rex in Jurassic Park: Main element is a baby elephant scared it doesn't see it's mother. What cruel sound guys!

Cockroach in Wall-E: Police handcuffs.

Lid of the Lost Ark in Indiana Jones: Lid of a toilet flushing mechanism.

Huge metal screeches and stress: Tiny piece of dry ice pushed against a metal container.

Scream of the Naz-gul in LOTR: One of the executive producers screaming.

Doors in the Star Trek's main spaceship: Commercial Airplane's toilet flush.

I could go on forever, but that gives you an idea!
