Seeking Advice

Hello,

I am a complete noob when it comes to film making. I am doing a project for school however that requires me to make a short film.

I want to take the picture 'relativity' by MC Escher and basically put it in motion. If it helps this film is for my philosophy final. I plan to do more than copy the picture by Escher. I am using it as a reference to give people an idea of what I am going for. The film is only going to include myself if that helps as well.

I would be very grateful if someone could tell me:

1. How feasible this is to do
2. What program(s) I need to do this with
3. A possible estimation of time needed to accomplish said task

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to gaining some insight.

You'll need PHOTOSHOP or some other image editor program.

Then a compositing program like AFTER EFFECTS or MOTION to animate it.

Finally you'll need a NLE (Non Linear Editing) program like iMovie or Windows Moviemaker (or Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro) to put it together with sound and the basic footage of you or your voice over.

Thank you very much.

I think I may have been misleading with the picture reference. I want to get footage of myself, from various angles, walking up and down stairs to make it look like the 'relativity' picture. After rereading my post I don't think I was very clear.

I appreciate the help very much. :)

sonnyboo is right. You’ll shoot yourself from various angles then
composite that footage into the Echer picture using any (or maybe
all) the programs he mentioned.

1. It’s quite feasible to do.
2. soonyboo answered.
3. It could take an experienced person a day or so, and it could
take an inexperienced person several weeks.

It sounds like a cool idea. Please post your results when it’s
done. I’d love to see it!
