You wouldn't necessarily loose sharpness Boo. That's the whole idea behind the fractal blow up - it saves the image as a specific algorithim instead of pixels and then creates the necessary amount of pixels for whatever you ask.
Using a fractal based program to blow up an image introduces it's own kind of artifatcting. The edges are very pronounced, for one.
BTW, Panavision has announced a new HD camera with a super-35mm sized sensor. It features dual SDI outputs for 4:4:4 output, and will deliver fulll HDTV resoulution, while working with Panavision 35mm lenses & accessories. Does anybody know anything about the 35mm to video adaptor that JDC (Joe Dunton Cameras) has developed? I mean, has anyone worked with one or seen the picture?
If you are looking for a good standard def alternative to Hi Def, check out the Panasonic DVCPRO 50. It has progressive scan just like HD and the output is very, very good, in terms of picture quality.
