Screenplay transition question??

I'm writing my second (practically my first, considering my first, though finished was beyond terrible and not correctly formatted) screenplay. I've come to a point almost halfway through where I want to signal that a sound starts in one scene and 'carries' across the transition, continuing at the start of the next scene. How do I show this in my screenplay?
Thank you very much for your time.

Welcome to indietalk.

You do not make this decision in the screenplay. That decision will
be made in the editing room. Not what you want to hear.

There is no "standard" for this so you it's up to you to get this
across in anyway you feel works. You will need to, essentially,
write out an audio cue. Will you be directing this movie? If so
that makes it much easier. Write it the way you (the director)
will understand.

Thanks for the welcome, I've been lurking here without an account for a few months already.
I hope to be directing it, but it's 50/50 as to whether I'll be directing or co-directing.
Okay, that's very helpful, thank you :)
