Rolls Mixers

Since I already have a Zoom H4n, would using a mixer along the lines of a Rolls MX 410 or MX 422 (which I know aren't professional grade equipment) improve the overall signal to the Zoom and make for better audio capture?

I can get the MX422 for around $280 delivered. Worth it?

You'll get a marginal upgrade in pre-amp quality. It will give you more real-time control, and slightly better routing capabilities. My advice would be to save your money and get something of decent quality. You'll notice a substantial improvement once you step up to something like the PSC ProMix 3 (under $500).

$280 for the MX 422 is not a bad used price, though, so if it's in good working condition - and there is a return policy - it is probably worth the investment.
