Robert De Niro horrible movies ?

I don't know .

I thought those movie legends like Robert De Niro have enough money from their old projects . I don't understand why they keep on accepting terrible romantic comedy roles ? I just heard of another crappy movie that Robert De Niro will star in - probably he'll play some retarded grandfather . This literally infuriates me .

And what the hell is Al Pacino doing in movies like Jack and Jill anyways ?

Acting is a job, like any other. Sure it pays well, but having 'enough' money is relative - what seems like a lot when you don't have any can go pretty quickly once you hit the typical hollywood lifestyle. If the jobs that are paying the most are bad comedies then those are the jobs you take if you want to keep paying your manager, agent, mortgages, housekeeping staff, alimony, child support, etc.

Plus - with someone like De Niro I suspect constantly doing serious movies gets to be a drag, and takes a lot out of you. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually enjoys doing movies that aren't particularly dramatic or serious - doing one of those a year may be like getting a really well-paid vacation for him.

I know what you mean but DeNiro and Pacino still do a lot of talented and artistic work. Off the top of my head, just saw DeNiro in Being Flynn and Pacino in Phil Spector.

This sure is an easy question to ask, when you don't have money being waved in front of your face.

Hollywood is age-ist, and old-folks don't generally do well. The fact that de Niro is able to continue to get regular work is a testament to his abilities, and I thought he was wonderful in Silver Linings.

Pacino was in Jack and Jill cuz he was a huge Sandler fan.

De Niro kinda reinvented himself into the lame comedy genre. I don't think I've liked a single movie he's in, to tell ya the truth.

Are you referring to "The Big Wedding?" If so, I'll ask a similar question... what the hell happened to Robin Williams? Haven't seen him in a good movie since 2006

Alcoholism and health problems seem to have derailed his career somewhat for the last few years, but it looks like he's finally gotten healthy again and is starting to do some more high-profile work.

I think De Niro does a great job, he always seems so genuine in the roles he plays. Admittedly I haven't seen many of his films lately so I can't be a judge, but still, I think he's good at diverse roles too, not just the violent ones.
