i have just recently been getting into documentaries, and i'm determined to make my own. i've read only a little about cameras, is a digital 24p cinema camcorder a good choice? why, or why not?

24p is always good to have on a camcorder. Can docs be shot at 30p or would it look out of place?

Just make sure you have plenty of SD cards for memory; any camcorder would work really.

Are their any other features on the camera?

The truth is you can make a documentary on any camera.
The iPhone, the Flip, a camcorder, a pro camera, a DSLR.
It isn't the camera choice that's truly important, it's what
your documentary is about that is important.

But a 24p camera is fine. Make sure it has a mic input and
manual controls over white balance, exposure and iris.
