Rejected from Cannes Short Film Corner

This is the first film I've ever submitted to Cannes Short Film Corner. I was careful to follow all directions and several weeks after submitting I received an email stating the film had been rejected. Being that they accept thousands of films this was shocking. Also shocking because my film just won a significant jury award at a major festival and is in competition at several others including an Oscar qualifying fest. I don't understand what makes them reject a film and I refuse to believe it's a quality issue in this case.

Anyone know what's up?
