Recoding gun sounds

Seem to remember someone asking about recording gun sounds, not too long ago. Saw this recent Film Riot episode and thought was kind of cool. Figured I'd post here. Thought it gives a glimps at how difficult recording something like this is.

Fuck man, all of the Mics and the rest of that gear, Man some expensive stuff.

What is Ryan's Deal, like what does the guy actually do? Is this his job doing film riot. The guy seems to have a lot of connections.

What is Ryan's Deal, like what does the guy actually do?

He started out making short films, and then got picked up by Revision3 after they saw his filmmaking show "Making the Film". He had a full time job, and was doing Film Riot episodes every week. Once the show gained popularity, he got sponsors. As his show got more popular, he gained sponsors, and got payed more by sponsors, he became more and more financially comfortable, and was wealthy and popular enough to quit his job. He now does Film Riot full time, and gets money from sponsors. His connections are from companies that sell products for filmmakers. He also goes to places like NAB, gets together with other Revision3 people (who have connections), and collaborates with people.
