Question about camera lens cleaning.

I shot some video while in a hot air balloon. The balloon jerked forward and my camera smashed into one of the ropes, while I was operating a steadicam. An ND filter was on the lens, and it now has a smudge on it, which I am having trouble getting off.

I don't want to scrub any harder on fear of scratching or breaking it. Any ideas on how to clean it safely? I have been using my shirts, as I don't have a lens cleaning cloth, but I got another shoot coming up tomorrow and the camera stores are closed, so I cannot purchase one.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

I gave the footage to the director, but I did still have one file left on my computer. It's very shaky as I suck at steadicam, if I have no ground to stand on, since the balloon was moving around so much:

Lens tissue and lens cleaning fluid (Panchro or Rosco - pick which one you like better).

I can't advise any other method of cleaning.

I prefer the crumple method. Crumple, wipe, discard, repeat.

In other news.... Not a good idea. Keep the footage as backup, at least for a small amount of time

I know, shooting from a hot air balloon is an art that needs to be mastered in itself.
