I have no idea what I'd even do with one of these, I have no skill at 3D modeling. But it just gets me so exited that we're getting that much closer to Star Trek replicators.
 
Of course, 3D printing has been around for a long time (just not as a consumer product), but I never thought of using it for prop making! Is that a common practice? If not, it certainly sounds feasible to me. Only today, I was trying to come up with a solution as how to produce an intricately carved wooden box. 3D printing seems like the perfect option! I'm sure I've got dozens of contacts through work who could help. Thanks for the brainwave!
