I recently spent a couple of hours taking a tour of the projection rooms at the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television and their Pictureville theater (Bradford, UK).
It had never occurred to me how important and fascinating this final part of the film process could be.
Admittedly the NMPFT is more interesting than most with its multiply format capability, including Cinerama projectors and screen, original 70mm projectors, right up to their state-of-the-art Imax theater.
I can recommend a tour of projection rooms to any one interested in film and cinema. Thanks to Head Projectionist, Tony Cutts.
