Production Company Name?

I have been trying to think of a new name for my production company of short films. My old name was "JT ProZone" but I feel I need to change it. I thought of "PB & J Productions" but somebody in Penssylvania is using it or something. Any ideas? Also- I don't think he trademarked his name so does that mean that I can use it? Please Help!

Thanks in advance for the great answers that I know yo guys will come up with!;)

This is something you should come up with yourself. We know nothing about you or your films, etc.

Find something from your personal history. My company name - Alcove Audio Productions - comes from the fact that my first "studio" was in an alcove in my apartment.

THX is a quality assurance certification for theatre speaker systems which was developed at George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch. THX doesn't mean anything; "according to Tomlinson Holman, the inventor of the THX system, the name of the technology was deliberately chosen because it contained both a reference to his name, and to Lucas's early film THX 1138." And Lucas's audio facility is called Skywalker Sound - guess why...

Rather than specific ideas, naming advice would be an interesting discussion.

For example, what are folks thoughts on including "Films," "Productions," and the like? Pragmatically, it tells folks what you do - though many names stand alone without it. Bad Robot comes to mind, though there are probably other examples of smaller companies that follow that naming convention as well.

And for freelancers? Even bother with a name, or just skip the fictitious name filing and do the business license under your given name? For that matter I do know of one guy who uses <First Name><Last Name>, LLC as in incorporated name.

I guess there are lots of options, but business naming is also a bit about perception and marketing. Would be interesting to hear how folks came to theirs, or what effective/non-effective names they have seen around.
