That's unfortunate. It's going to be tough...but it's tough in general, so hey we're all in the same boat.
First thing you're going to want to do is network. Find production companies (in your area might be the best) and see what they are doing. It might not hurt to shoot them an email asking whether they are looking for writers or scripts. Most won't be, but you may get lucky. Most indie companies already have a bunch of ideas cooking, and/or already have a writer or writers putting things together. Jumping in the mix (clique) will be tough.
It might also be worth it to work on a few of the sets and get to know people. If you're serious about writing for film, you should know the people making the movies. Networking is huge!
You can also try to sell your script. This is done all the time. How, I'm not quite sure the channels you should take, but you won't have to network as much to just send your script to someone who buys scripts (copyright it first).
Sometimes, you can find local meetup groups who meet about certain things like writing, film, editing...go to these meetups and network. Heck, start a meetup. One good site to start looking is
www.meetup.com - search your area for film related stuff or screenwriting groups.
Cheers.
