Problems Importing in FCE

I am just a whirling dervish of anger right now.

I've recently installed Final Cut Express, but it doesn't seem to want to import any video. SD or HD.

My camera connects to my computer just fine. I can preview every clip I've recorded through the Log and Transfer function, but whatever I place in the queue refuses to load. Whenever I select a clip the queue will read "transferring clip", then suddenly stop and read just read "idle". FOREVER.

If I try to import an SD file directly the program states "file unknown". Seems to me it shouldn't have any trouble importing regular old mpeg files.

I have a Sony Cx-100, which records HD in avchd, but every tutorial I've seen says FCE is compatible with it.

If anybody might know why this problem is occurring, I'd really love to know as well.

Go here and Search the problem. There is somebody every day with the same problem.
I import my files to my external hard drive and the convert with Elgato h.264HD,then import to FCE.

I'd been there and one other fellow said he had the same problem, but it went unanswered.

Figured out that FCE doesn't support mts though. That'd be my problem. I just have to get a convertor.
