editing Premiere 6.5 on G5 crash

Hello.. I am running premiere 6.5 on a G5. The crash problems I'm having seem only to happen when I paste attributes to an image. I use premiere to make animatics so theres no video just still images. First I copy a pan or an effect and paste its attributes to another image, then when I want to scroll over that image to see how it looks... Program crashes. Does anybody have a clue why this is.
