Premade "boom poles"

I was reading an article and found a great "replacement" for a boom pole with shock absorber. Keep in mind it might easier for a diy but a golf ball retriever comes at 15' telescoping, just add rubber bands and "boom" (pun intended) you have a boom pole with shock absorber.

I've tried the painter's pole route and most of them are pretty sloppy and noisy. The aluminum boom poles aren't that expensive if you forgo the internal cables.

You can find adapters that will go from the painter pole thread to a mic thread on ebay.
