Please can you tell me how this effect was created???

Newb here. If you watch this short film linked below there is a section near the start 4:35 showing ruined skyscrapers that have been added into the background. I have tried messaging the channel on how they did this but have gotten no response. Please can you tell me the quickest and cheapest way to recreated this in terms of programs ect??? Thanks a lot!!!

This could be done in Adobe After Effects. I'm no major expert in 3D models and CGI so I couldn't tell you how the buildings were done exactly but there are tutorials out there. Alternatively you could get a matte of a cityscape (painted, sketched, made in Photoshop, etc.) and use After Effects to composite it in behind the foreground.
