Title: The Warning Track

Logline: After the Chicago Cubs' star player is murdered on the field mid-game, a reluctant former athlete turned FBI agent must go undercover to catch the deranged fan who is targeting players in a misguided effort to keep the Cubs from reaching the World Series.

I like it. Except for one major (no pun intended) detail.

It doesn't make sense that this is in the major leagues. No way in hell could an FBI agent impersonate a major league pro ball-player. Too unrealistic; I can't buy into it.

So take the same concept, and make it the minor leagues. Minor minor leagues. Heck, you could have a lot of fun poking around in the minors.

This would force you to change the motives of the murderer. It's already a bit of a stretch to think that someone would murder a ball-player to affect the World Series, but this would obviously never happen in the minor leagues. So, maybe you make it a more traditional murder motive. And someone in the organization appears to be connected, hence the reasoning to go undercover.

Well i agree making it in the major's is unrealistic but personally if your trying for comedy go for football instead of baseball. JUst more room for laughs.

By your logline it sounds like a sports movie, rather than a Mr. Congeniality movie.
