Panasonic HDC-SD9 Good for Short films?

I recently got the Panasonic HDC-SD9, which, from what I heard was once the smallest HD camera in the world. It looks like a home-made camcorder, escpecially for birthdays and such.

I am starting to seriously get into Film Making, especially on Youtube. They've gone a long way I would have to admit, but there still quite primitive. So, my question is, is the Panasonic HDC-SD9 good for general short film making as a good starting camera at my age? Or is it just a tad too low on the scale? The Quality is great, and it works amazingly well with my laptop.

You answered your own question.

It doesn't matter what the camera you use looks like. What matters is
that you get the quality you like.

Another thing that matters is the quality of your script, your actors, your
direction, your lighting and your editing.

If all those are excellent then the HDC-SD9 is an excellent camera. No
one watching the movie will know the size of the camera, but they will
notice all those other things.
