Hi all,

I am new to film making, and was looking for some advice regarding slow motion shooting. I was told that I should shoot in 60P format, then slow it down to 30P format. How exactly can I do this?

I know it seems like a simple question but I am new to this so any help would be appreciated.

In your NLE (Non Linear Editing software), import the footage you shot at 60 frames per second (technically 59.97). Then you can usually tell the program to "interpret footage" or some variation on that term depending on the program, and tell it to play it back at 29.97 frames per second or 23.976 frames per second and Oila! You will have slow motion video.

One more question, and it may seem like a stupid one but I am new to using high powered equipment.

If I record everything in 60p, and slow down some of it to 30p, will that footage look good with the 60p footage mixed in?

Essentially what I'm asking is should I shoot all my footage in 60p, even if I do not want to slow all of it down?
