Opinions on shorts like this

I think its really good and very well shot but would you consider him a good filmmaker? The video doesnt really have a story line so would you just say he's a good cinematographer. Do you think its important for short films to a solid story?
 
A short film should have a solid story.


However, I'm pretty sure this was never intending to be a story other than... the story of these two people at their weekend place on the lake. Not any real story. No intent to pretend there's a story.

I'm guessing Mr Weibe likes to tinker with color saturations in post to get that '70s look.

And I'm wondering how he and she keep those handheld shots so stable.
 
yea I dont think his intention was really to have a story line. I found it very entertaining to watch despite a storyline. I usually get bored when i watch fun little videos like this.

In the comments he says he uses a glidecam 4000

and yea I LOVE that 70's look
