Openfilm for filmmakers.

This start-up is claiming himself to be the ideal environment for filmmakers and production community. Lots of attention to the content, accepting original works and 50/50 ad revenue sharing makes it a prospective competitors of "giants". Check its features here.

Before I look at this, can I ask a question... are you connected to this project?

Only, I like to know who I'm getting referrals from.

I'm an amateur animator, and I'm seeking for the best option for my works (though I'm not a genius). I was collecting info from major video-sharing sites, and...well made a list like Wiki does. I wanna make some money - that's my prior goal.

That looks like an interesting site. If enough content producers were willing to make content available for an unspecified amount of ad revenue (50/50 could be 50% of nothing), it could reach critical mass. Otherwise, it's hard to break the hegemony of YouTube. I would be interested in uploading a short, if I knew I could not sell it on DVD or PPV. A 640x360 format is so close to [SD] DVD quality that the consumer would not have much of an incentive to purchase a DVD after downloading the 640x360 version.

Given the amount of content out there that is good quality entertainment but can't go for DVD distribution or theatrical distribution, I'd think there is a place for OpenFilm. The challenge, of course, is for OpenFilm to get enough ad revenue to keep it's doors open. Splitting it 50/50 with content producers is generous, but may make it that much harder for OpenFilm to reach profitability.

Just rambling,
Doug

Thanks Draft, it's just we get a lot of the "hey check out this site I found" postings... and then low and behold the poster is the site owner! LOL

I'm sure you've come across that in your travels.

Look, I edit 1000dollarfilm.com an emagazine for micro-budget filmmakers... shoot me a link to your wiki, if you'd like to share your research with the rest of the community.

Publishing on Openfilm

Openfilm hasn't started revenue sharing program as I expected. But I can wait a little more 'cause they modified their player and now it displays videos at hi-resolution up to 1280x720. It might be a great chance for me to become popular absolutely free - all I have to do is to create nice plotting vid :) that, I believe, will grab viewer's attention.
Did any of you, guys, submitted shows to Openfilm? How can I get the same flash banners, as LivFilms or other popular originals have (http://openfilm.com/users/)?

There's no problem with advertising here, just choose the right forum, and don't act like you are not connected. Your only have 3 posts since June and they are about openfilm. Thread moved.
