cinematography NIKKOR lenses on Black Magic?

Hey all

I did photography for years (and have nikon gear) but decided to give film a try.

I figured I can still use my NIKKOR lenses with Black Magic (which I gather are some of the best value for money - say micro is only $1000).

BUT - I understood because of adaptors the autofocus is lost. So here's a noob question:

Is film mostly shot using manual focus? Should I worry about not being able to do AF? Everything I found online is 2013 or older, I'm curious what's the state today.

Also anything else I need to know about mounting NIKKOR on Black Magic?

Thanks!

I'm not a cinematographer (but I actually did play one on stage back in the 80's at the OLD LA Theater Center), but I don't know of ANYONE who uses autofocus unless they're shooting on an Apple iThing.
