I've been kicking around the idea of filmmaking for a few years now. I stumbled into it kind of blindly a few years ago when I was a HS senior, and discovered how thoroughly I enjoyed the entire filmmaking process. Wrote a parody script of the Matrix, grabbed some friends, and put together a little video. Had a ton of fun, but didn't have the confidence to move forward with it.
Now I have a business degree in Project Management, and even after all this time, I can't seem to shake filmaking from the back of my head. There's just something about it, and everytime I sit down to make one of those "Figure out my life" sort of lists, I always end up thinking about how filmmaking is probably the thing I'm most passionate about...
So, I finally made a decision to actually sit down and learn a bit about the actual industry, and figure out how to get myself into the mix here. They say do what you love and the money will follow. I Googled around some phrases and ended up here, and figured it'd be a great place to start to understand the pulse of all this. I'm excited to meet you guys and girls, and start soaking up knowledge
