Whats up everyone..so I have just finished up my latest project..it is a horror/suspense/thriller..the film is called 37 STEPS and its about a man who is kidnapped,drugged,tossed in a basement,and has been told he has 30 minutes to fight for his survival..i won't describe it in any more detail so watch and please leave feedback,comments,everything!!!!!!!

Acting needs that work.
That voice needs some work. Absolutely ridiculous. Tone it down a bit.
Some over/under exposed shots.
The concept is clever, but it resembles Saw far too much.
Writing needs some work. Don't state the obvious. Exposition should be mainly revealed through visuals rather than dialogue.
Again, FCPX filters recognizable. Prism, Sci-fi, etc. Do manual color grades and tweaking to make the effects less noticeable and look more natural.
Don't apply effects to the aspect ratio bars. Instead, throw some bars on top. Check out the link below.

You're improving. A lot. This is far better than your past work. You've made the credits shorter, the story more interesting, and in my opinion - the camera work better. Keep it up. You're going to have to get friends involved soon. Good stuff.
 
i appreciate it chimp...i plan on getting some more people involved very soon..i just moved to the area I'm at now so i don't know many people out here..im gonna check out the youtube video you linked me to and see what its about..i am trying to make sure each new project i do though is an improvement from the last..thanks for the feedback!
 
i enjoyed it, although i could barely make out the instructions at the start through the distortion. how long did it take you, out of interest?
 
you mean how long did it take for my character? it was about 29 minutes technically but the toxin spread to a point where he couldn't function anymore..as far as filming and editing it took about a day and a half
 
I think the acoustic perspective could be better on the VO too. They sounded too dry, and didn't sit into the soundstage very well. A bit of eq and reverb would sort that though.

I too was also put off by the overdone pitchshifting on the bad guy's voice (and why did it go back to sounding human for the last couple of lines?). I would've layered up the detuned voice with the original rather than using it 100% wet as you did. This makes it much easier for us to understand the words, but still retains the "ZoMG he's eeevil!" feel. A good voice actor that can control his fry and false-chord/death techniques would've improved it too.

It was enjoyable enough to watch though. Thanks for sharing. :)
 
i appreciate it ad..the vocals at the end didn't go back to normal..that was the victims voice not the killers so i didn't pitch it at all..i appreciate you guys feedback though because it is really helping me in my progress..hopefully by next year ill be like one you professional gentlemen :)
