I have been really into female jazz vocalists of late. I recently purchased an album from Luba Mason that really impressed me. Does anyone know any other good female jazz vocalists? I enjoy more world/Latin influenced Jazz. I am listening to an artist named Margo Reymundo right now who I am starting to really enjoy. I don't know alot of female latin jazz singers, but I am familiar with Celia Cruz. She's bad ass. Other latin jazz: The Buena Vista Social Club, Tito Puente, Pete Escovido, Arturo Sandoval.
As for women jazz singers:
Nnenna Freelon, Diana Krall, Vanessa Rubin, Dianne Reeves, Diane Schuur, Cassandra Wilson.
Those ladies are contemporary and singing right now. Did you want jazz singers from back in the day?
