Need to upgrade tripod!

My sturdy Vanguard tripod (seventy bucks at Fry's) is great for my small camcorder (and my Nikon film camera...yes, I still love film), but I have acquired a Panasonic hvx200 and it weighs in at almost seven pounds, and too heavy for my cheap tripod.

I have about $850 to spend. At this price range, there are many choices, so I'm having trouble making up my mind.

Any suggestions? I'm filmming shorts, documentaries, and some wildlife films. Handheld is OK, but is not going to cut it while doing interviews...

I'd go for a Sachtler at that price range. You're right at the level where they start, and they are pro.
