need help compressing file

hey - I'm trying to post a film on IFC's film lab. They ask for .mov or .wmv file that is no more than 100mb or six minutes in length. My time is under six but the file is about 240mb. How can I compress and still have in .mov format? thank you for any help.

you can do that with quicktime pro.

Here's a tutorial to do this using the H.264 codec, which is Apple's new gem of a compression codec, used with the new video ipods and such...

For internet use you'll probably want to set the size to be 320x240, with a bit rate somewhere in the 300-500Kbps range.


There are other ways to do this of course, but you didn't mention any of the software you have available, or even if you're on a PC or a Mac.
