Those of you pining for the days of anthology horror a la Tales for the Crypt or The Twilight Zone might have a reason to rejoice.
Comcast has found a way to attract more than the reality TV-loving crowd with its newest show, "MovieScreams”, Horror Show. Though the show relies on cheesy characters and inane dialogue, this new horror series is undeniably irresistible.
MovieScreams, feels like a combination of Tales from the Crypt and a film out of the 1960s and 1970s horror genre like "The House of Wax" and "Black Sunday". MovieScreams, is a provocative, horror anthology series set to push the boundaries of this classic genre.
Each episode begins with a shot leading to the front door of the Cryptkeeper. The series is hosted by Roosevelt Samarie L., who introduces each film and concludes each episode. The show also stands out from its competition because it features a level of gore usually seen only in R-rated films. "MovieScreams”, Horror Show might not be thought-provoking, but it is definitely more entertaining than most of what's on television.
The show is currently slated to run regionally on Comcast Cable station’s People TV channel 24 in Atlanta, GA but series creator and its producer Roosevelt Samarie L., is currently working on getting MOVIESCREAMS… distributed internationally. Mini-Episodes of the show can be viewed on their website.
