Movie Magic Scheduling

Has anyone any experience of Movie Magic Scheduling? Is the Software easy to use, or training required? How did you find the software

thanks

I've used of for years. Like anything it takes some work to fully
use all the functions. I didn't have any training - I just learned
by doing.

It's got a steep learning curve, but you can learn it if you really want to.

Personally, though, where I'm at with filmmaking, I find that 90% of the program's features aren't things I need. So for me, it's not worth learning. I stick to the old-fashioned way of using breakdown sheets in word, and make my production strips in excel.

I've actually put up the templates I created on my website for other filmmakers to use, no charge. Feel free to use them if you want: http://www.satyricafilms.com just go to the 'resources' tab.

I had started using the old fashioned way of breakdown sheets...but heard good things about Movie Magic...great website, very helpful Dreadylocks

I love MM Schedule. I've used it a bunch in the past, and these tutorials were a huge help in my understanding the nuts & bolts of breakdown & scheduling for my film. It was particularly helpful because I had to balance several locations, actor availability, and day/night shooting.

EXCELLENT MM SCHEDULE TUTORIAL (the videos are out of order, so you may need to figure that out)

excellent, thanks for links....is the software expensive?

A formerly active Indietalk member has scheduling software (windows based, but should run under WINE on mac and linux too I'd think) that is quite a bit less expensive than movie magic...

$179 for a full license. Or you can 'rent' it for 6 months for $29, or for 1 month for $19.

Try the demo. I'm not affiliated, just a satisfied customer.
